Intuos3 12x9 tablet

Mon Mar 23, 2009, 5:39 PM

;___;
So this past weekend my dad brought home from work his company's one of probably many 12x9 tablets. Lucky me, I got to use the huge-ass piece of awesome. I spent Friday all the way to Sunday using it and just going ballistic with excitement. I've always wanted a tablet of my own; one I can safely claim as MINE. I'm using my mom's up-to-date graphire, but when I write, there are random lines connecting letters. Plus, the feel of the small 6x8 compared to the 12x9 is a whole different feeling!! I'm not kidding. Try one of those bad-ass hunks and WHAM, you're in the twilight zone.

That's what it is...AND FOR WHAT A CHEAP PRICE. These things can rack up to over $800. Some to $1000 if you get the complicated ones. This one is like a bigger version of the one I'm using now.
There's just one problem: my parents are enjoying saying "no."

NOW WAIT BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING
I'm using my own money, I have figured out my financial benefits and consequences, and have come to a decision already. I want it. Oh good lord, how could I possibly afford this? Well, I saved all my $$$ from my old job, I get $20 a week for allowance (whatwhat), and I'm going to start selling jewelry.
WHAT ABOUT PROM?
GRAD BASH?
YEARBOOK?
GRADUATION?
PROM DRESS?

ffffffft
I'm not planning on spending loads of fucking money on a PROM dress...one I'll only wear once.
Grad bash is being paid by my parents (they insisted)
Prom I'm paying for me, myself, and I (no date LAWL)
Yearbook has BEEN paid for (for months now)
Graduation has also been paid for practically...

I'm good. SO good. And yet my dad is like "ask your mother" and my mother has always been "WELL THINK ABOUT IT MY DEAR CHILD." I feel like I'm still 15, getting $10 a week for chores around the house.
"Do you have enough money"
"yes"
"Do you really want it?"
"yes"
"Do you REALLY want it?"
"Yes"
...LONG ARGUMENT OF PROS AND CONS ENSUES
"Do you want it?"
"no"

They do this all the time and in the end, I end up missing what I haven't experienced.
BAWWW LISTEN TO ME WHINE.
Idk, guys. Don't listen to me or whatever.
I'm just ticked off at them for being like "OH HEY PLAY WITH THIS EXPENSIVE TOY" then completely turn me down the chance I have at getting the "expensive toy" for a really cheap price.
I just know that if I don't get that cheap bit of AMAZING, someone, somewhere is going to rub it in my face.
That's usually how the pattern works.

Ah that is really cool! I wish I could try a bigger tablet, not that I mind a smaller one. Lol.

But, if anything it really comes down to if you want it. If it makes you happy then get it, but if you know you might regret it later don't. Though, if I was in your situation I probably be shaking my parents for money to buy, especially at a cheap price for one of those.

I'm buying it with my own money...and I don't have a credit card like some people. I can't get it myself.

Just found one on eBay for $200. Reliable seller.
He's still saying "YOU DON'T NEED IT"
I don't need it.
I want it because i KNOW it'll help with my digital work. He has no idea. He doesn't want me to whine and bitch if something goes wrong.

Wow! $200 on Ebay. That is really something. (And kind of suspisious, but that's just me) That is those once a lifetime (not really lifetime. One of the few) chances to find something that cheap.
But anyways, I guess it just comes down to if you want it enough, even though your parents my oppose the idea, prove to them what it will do for you, the benefits. I've had these kinds of situations before, and all of them I could not get. It was very disappointing at first, but you eventually get over it. (just give it like 1 or 2 months. Lol.) Sorry I'm not much help.....:(

NO NO You are full of help!!
I've already gone over the whole situation with them and I'm not sure what's going to happen, so I'll let it play out. If something happens in my favor, I'll lightly rub it in their faces if I have to. (Wow, I'm such a bitch)
